Car museum - FJ Love - 09-Jun-2016 21:11

my childhood friend called me up the other day to come and see his latest project, a car museum that he's had built on his farm, it's nearing completion and is pretty state of the art, here are a few snaps from my visit

My phone is basically a data device only. I hate calling people so much...

Pretty much the same here. My older brother keeps telling me I need to go this or that reunion. I graduated at the end of my junior year and started college. Never looked back. Although I did get married at age 20.

Nice Bentley. There's a Bentley showroom just around the corner (near the Porsche one) and while I don't really like them, that red one is wikked.

I'm sure it is, I have no clue what model it or any of the others are, I could care less and it pisses him off, I pretend to be more fascinated in the trinkets Icon_cheesygrin

Now that's interesting! I had to google "streetsurfer bike". Looks like it was an Australian creation of 10 or 11 years ago. There are some videos on YT and several online articles from 2005-2008. I guess it wasn't "the next big thing".

I was also intrigued by this bike, my friend had bought it because some clown rode by him on a boardwalk with it, so he had to have it, the front suspension is neat

Not that the pics of the plumbing etc...were not riveting, but next time I'd lead with this set of images Icon_cheesygrin

Clearly has more than two wheels.

StreetSurfer offers a new penta-wheeled experience!

Would be more accurate and all the more puzzling.

Thats alot of space and gorgeous wood, i dont think sprinklers would do much. Your friend should invest in one of those aircraft foam systems!

Much depends on local codes. The sprinklers may be required. However, I would think a gas-based system of the type used in data centers (such as DuPont's FM-200) would make sense as a first line of defense considering the value of, for example, that slick 5-wheeled cycle.

RE: Car museum - juice - 10-Jun-2016 21:29

I too think gassing people to save the cars is a worthy choice.

his last attempt at a car museum caught fire when the overloaded 100 amp panel blew up, fortunately there was not much damage but valuable lessons were learned and implemented in the 2.0 version, first, don't cheap out, (He's notorious for this) second thing was he's rural and they have a volunteer fire dept that took 30 minutes to arrive, next, run power to your building which required trenching over a 1/4 mile to a transformer station and then to the building. The sprinkler system was probably an insurance prerequisite.

RE: Car museum - Sheldon N - 10-Jun-2016 22:19

Like Case said, he should get one of these systems.

you would still need a sprinkler system to wash the cars afterward Icon_cheesygrin
