Ah, near Times Square. ... I was there a few weeks ago, but the rain killed Manhattan-Henge. Bummer. I had my camera and wanted to take a shot of the sun setting between the buildings. Unfortunately the clouds wouldn't cooperate.

The deep purple looks quite dramatic against the red rock formations, and since red and violet are adjacent in the spectrum, they are very complimentary. Nice blur to the BG, and the expectant mother and her blowing drape have a very crisp edge, especially at her belly, back, and the edges of the drape.

It's a good thing that the top edge of the drape and the folds create leading lines that refocus the viewer's gaze on the expectant mother. ... Otherwise, the hero of the image would be the purple stuff Icon_eek

Her downward gaze at her belly is just wonderful.

Good composition.
