Do you know how many boxes would be required to move Dave's private Smithsonian?

Just over 400 boxes to make the move to South Carolina.

It was a mix of Home Depot small, medium, and large boxes plus wardrobe boxes plus tall boxes, short boxes, fat boxes. You name it. You should have seen the box the moving guys made for my very oddly shaped wet tile saw and the one they made for my thickness planer. Of course, we're just talkin' boxes here, not furniture. Bottom line: I don't think my "stuff" would fit in that half million dollar, 264 square foot shack. Nice of Mike to offer to help me move, though.

I don't know why everyone feels compelled to pick on my poor thickness planer. No, I don't use it often but, when the need arises, it's absolutely indispensable. I've needed it maybe a half dozen times since we've been down here working on various projects around the house. It's a wonder tool.

agreed, I sold mine as it was an impractical tool for me, it took up too much real estate in my garage, wasn't exactly portable and I never used it, out of the thousands I have spent on tools the angle grinder that i took the stupid stone off of is my most used tool ever, having an 80 grit paper disc changed that tool in such a way it's effortless to use, shaves wood down as fast as I apply pressure and makes straight edges no problem following a pencil line, where this tool shines best is when i just need a bit more off one end or in the middle for that precision fit, it also works great on metal, total cost $50 Icon_biggrin

Ah, yes, the angle grinder! Another indispensable tool for the home handyman. Mine:

I bought mine before Porter Cable was acquired by Black and Decker which resulted in almost immediate brand junkification.

But the vast majority of house sales are domestic, so the relative value of the currency to external currencies makes no difference.

Mankins are lumps of cold, dead plastic. But that doesn't mean they don't turn me on.
With friends like these, who needs mankins? I do, that's who.
I love pinging my junk with a rubber band. Dr Snip taught me how.
I lead an underworld cult of mankin people.
