Hi Oskar

I noticed that thread also. The OP does some nice work and was surprised by his post. There is a lot of "it depends" that would go into whether you need to use a meter or not. I think the title is absurd though.

Indeed, his work is nice. But the idea of light meter slowing him down is just idiotic... how it can slow you down when you arrive on set 45 minutes early to set up/adjust/chimp... Icon_rolleyes

I set up from 0 to taking pictures in ~15 minutes, possibly more if I'm trying out something different. But it never takes me 45 minutes to set up. Icon_rolleyes Take light meter reading, adjust and shoot away.

My 1DmkIII has always been fine, even before the fixes. Canon Australia were pretty difficult to deal with, though.

From a Smugmug price increase thread at FM, from a user named "shawngilson".

I honestly didn't realise there were people out there as stupid as this.

quote:Another loyal Smugmug user as well.. and I'll be staying with them. I have to admit when I watch the video, there was a tiny twinge of guilt, realizing that I could be part of the reason that they have to charge more. I store hundreds of thousands of photos on there. I take most of these photos for the love of it, and some for profit, but because this is my hobby/2nd job, I do a poor job of selling. I let alot of my photos go for free, as they are for my kids' or friends' teams. I have over 300,000 full res images out there being stored

Can i have a url to that so i can cuss him out ?

My tipping point is slowly being tipped and i'll start trying to do without SM very soon, we'll see if i can manage to set everything up before renewal, hopefully so.

But i decided to drop them as soon as its possible.

I have no idea who "Kip Praslowicz" is, but anyone who doesn't know how to make watermarking part of the LR export process - and who doesn't understand that the printed image from 50 years ago is somewhat less likely to be stolen than digital images today - has to be a pretty dumb bunny.

Also, in this age when files are distributed willy-nilly, a watermark can lead people to your business. An unwatermarked image is a marketing opportunity missed, IMHO.
