Patience, perseverance and particles!
 
Those are the three things you need if you want to see an Aurora from where I live. Patience, perseverance and solar particles hitting the Earth's magnetic field. Icon_smile Eventually you will be rewarded by something like this, from last night:

Yuh, that's because you are right under it. We don't get to see the green glow, we are too far north. Too far away from the south magnetic pole! They can see it from New Zealand and Tasmania sometimes, we just get to see the very faint top of the Aurora, and that's why it's red.
