Ya gotta like the mr. Juiceman.

Mankins are lumps of cold, dead plastic. But that doesn't mean they don't turn me on.
With friends like these, who needs mankins? I do, that's who.

Nice meter, Mic! A mate of mine has one. Too big for me though, it would stay at home (ahem, in the studio ;) ) most of the time. Having that spot meter built-in is a huge pain in the arse most of the time, at least for the sort of stuff that I do.

Yeah, I'm curious about how the spotmeter works, etc., as much as anything. It's in the box with all the software and manual, etc., so I'll keep that in the cupboard until I see if I want to keep it or flip it and go back to a smaller one.

Watching the Sekonic series of videos on the 758 (not worth it, really, but hey, they're short): "For portraits, many recommend taking a reading under the subject's chin..." video under this voiceover shows reading being taken from next to the cheekbone.

Followed by a slide: "Shot to come" when talking about flash/ambient ratios.

Dick Mitchell can help him with that.

The software is "free" but the target is around $10000000 or so.

I'm considering it Icon_smile

OK, bought a couple of rechargable CR-123A batteries with a charger, and a set of four single-use, see how they go.

Why the sudden meter frenzy, Mic? The L-758DR seems like massive overkill, especially for someone who has spent the past two months miniaturizing his photo kit. The price you paid was definitely excellent but I'd be inclined to insta-flip and buy an L-358 or similar and a few satay pizzas with the excess profit.

One meter is not a "frenzy" Icon_smile

Yes, that will quite likely happen at some point, but I've always wanted to see what a 758 was like, and here's the chance to do that and then make a few bucks Icon_smile

To be fair, I used to make red wine before.

Not interested in distilling prune juice.
