It's time for me to do some camera/lighting house cleaning. I feel like the MI version of MDJAK Mark when it comes to camera/lighting gear.Icon_rolleyes

5DII
100 2.8 L
24 1.4 v1

deciding which:

135L

Why Ralph, you little gear hoarder! All three TS-E lenses? Have they been out of their box? I just have to know why they're on the "keeper" list. Use 'em much? Ever? The 24mm, at least, will help you keep Lenin vertical.

I demand a second opinion! According to that STUPID test I'm 50% hipster.

Ya, I've used them. It will be something different to work with, kinda like photogs that play with medium format.

I'm looking foreward to checking the Fuji system out. BTW, I cam real close to going with the silver graphite version, I like the retro look. It was hard to justify the extra $300 (having to purchase the 18-55 seperatly).

That's for sure Scoot. I'm hoping a smaller package will have me carrying some gear around more. Hard to say though. It's been kind of depressing not having the time or when I have the time, not having the motivation to go shoot. To much shit in my life over the last year.

Dealing with mom's estate
At the end of the month I'm closing my business of 38 years.
The plumbing store I work at is liquidating and will close the end of the month(I'll work at the other location).

Anyway, I digress.

Good decision, it's EXACTLY the same camera, and only a complete wanker would pay extra for the coloured lid.

I know I've said it before, but I still really miss the 85L. The 56 is a very nice lens, for sure, but it's no 85. The 85 is smoother and shallower. I loved that lens.

Back on topic for Ralph...

I've got the X-T1, 18-55 kit, 23 1.4 and 56 1.2. I like all the lenses, they are sharp and contrasty.

I've also got the X100s with its 23 f/2 lens. While the 23 1.4 for the X-T1 is sharper/more contrasty/focuses faster, I honestly think I like shooting with the X100s better. If I had to pick between the 23 1.4 and the X100s, I'd take the X100s (they're about the same price used). I just love the size/form factor/aesthetics/shooting experience of the X100s, and I really like the rendition of the lens.

I did some back to back comparison shots between the two 23's and my preference is for the rendition of the X100s.

Thus the question, indeed.

Can't see the point of having all that Canon stuff there, depreciating, just sell the lot.

As Sheldon said, consider the X100T. Easily affordable after selling all yer Canon crap.

Who would have thunk this would ever happen?

Mankins are lumps of cold, dead plastic. But that doesn't mean they don't turn me on.
With friends like these, who needs mankins? I do, that's who.
I love pinging my junk with a rubber band. Dr Snip taught me how.
I lead an underworld cult of mankin people.

Apparently, Mic's been busily adjusting his Fuji holdings, Martin, so the table will need some additional updating. In looking at it now, it's VERY clear that I need to thin the herd a bit:

Gotta add columns for Scoot and Ralph.

Now that I think about it, you also had the 10-24mm and 27mm. Also gone?
Oh, yeah, I've got all them still Icon_smile

The 10-24 is definitely a "like" - it's a considerably better lens than the Canon 16-35mkII.

The 27 is OK, it's really just a safety lens, mostly used as a bodycap for the X-E1 Icon_smile

The Samyang is going to be sold, I just don't bond with it at all.

Except it was out before the B1.

The B1 is nicer, for sure - 9 stops range, etc - but insanely expensive.

The B2 is just weird.

I'm quite fond of the 27mm, Mic. It is pretty much the body cap for my X-T1; it's ALWAYS on the camera when the camera is in the Domke bag. When the lens was $199 in February '14, it was the ultimate no-brainer.

Yeah, that's when I got mine, indeed.

I think that's all I've ever used it for, but it was cheap and it's sharp Icon_biggrin

I almost bought the X-E2 when it was on sale earlier this year. Almost. Then I thought: "If I'm gonna buy a camera with a smaller sensor, I might as well go all out!" and bought the iPhone 6 instead. Icon_razz

I'm seriously considering selling my Fuji X100. As much as I love the camera (and its image quality), I tend to pick up the Sony RX100 Mk2 more often, when I want to travel light. That, and my phone, are the ultimate lightweight kit! But then... every time I pick it up and use it, I hang onto it for a little while longer again. It's just so much fun to shoot with!

Funnily enough, I'm still hanging onto all my heavy Elinchrom gear. I still haven't found anything better to replace it, for those times when I am seriously lighting stuff.

That, or change the colour scheme. Swap the green for red, for example. Icon_mrgreen

I need to buy more lenses. Icon_smile

The 10-24 would be cool someday, and I'm kicking myself for not getting the 27 when it was cheap.
