I really, really want a weather proof set up. XF 16-55 may work.

Mankins are lumps of cold, dead plastic. But that doesn't mean they don't turn me on.
With friends like these, who needs mankins? I do, that's who.

Martin, you are correct.
With that said, there is no perfect set up, only set ups that best fit needs coming from compromise.

A list of what I look forward to with the X-T1:
EFV that allows for someone with bad eye site to manually focus better than my canon bodies
smaller form factor
lighter weight option (lens dependent)
weather resistant option
exposure controls that are more like a film camera

I wish they implemented the following:
Higher sync
lower ISO for RAW

Other issues I won't know til I get the kit into my grubby meat hooks to work with.Icon_biggrin

Fuji overrate the ISO, so it's effectively ISO100 for RAW anyway.

Totally. I got myself a lovely old Minolta meter, and then had to sell it because it would only adjust .6 stop either way, not a full stop.

Also have Yongnuo 603CII units as TX, and the 603C as RX.

I stepped on a skyport, and then I smashed it with an axe and fed it to my ox. I still have a pair of the old Pocket Wizard Plus IIs. ... Clunkier than hell, but about the most reliable things on the planet. ... And they run on a pair of AA batteries that cost all of $ 1.59.

It doesn't matter which one I put in the shoe, or which one I use to trigger a strobe, it figures it out on its own. My only complaint, is that the darned things are so damned big and clunky. I've dropped them a bunch of times, and they just keep working. I'd never recommend them, because they are so darned big.

... But c'mon ... AA batteries !!! I love 'em just for using AA batteries !! And I'm okay with that.

Hi JB

Is it still snowin'.

Regarding PWs, I could never stick one of those in a hot shoe and not feel nervous about it getting leveraged out because of how high they stood over the camera.

I'm NOT OK with the cold !!!

But on a happier note, my calf injury is healing nicely. I went for a short run today (actually, it was only a jog), and it felt pretty good. It was glorious to get out in the cool air and just stretch the legs out. I only went about 5 miles, but it was like being in heaven. I wish I could win the Powerball or one of those Mega Lottery things (... of course if you don't buy a ticket your odds kind of suck Icon_rolleyes ) because then I wouldn't have to work. I'd run at least 2-hours every day.

Those of you who are retired (or close), I really admire the fact that you've accomplished so much. I don't know if I'll ever retire, but if I do, I plan on doing a lot of fun stuff. Every day.

Fair enough, not amazing but I still like the images. I went back and forth on whether to shoot jpgs or use the Lightroom Fuji film simulation camera profiles. I settled on shooting RAW with LR profiles. I like the Astia profile for my X100s, have been using it for the X-T1 too but I might switch over to the Pro-Neg Std profile.
