Man, those new DSLRs are progressing, I never had one where the OVF showed me where things were going.

Yeah, pretty good video, agreed. I rarely watch them, but this is worth it. Well, mostly. I skipped through a fair bit of the second half, but they did say the 85/1.4 was pretty light.

Might there be a Sony in your future, Mic? The sample images I've seen from that new 85/1.4 GM lens look *really* good. I realize they couldn't possibly be as good as the 85/1.2L II produces, but ...

I think Chris and Jordan produce some of the most useful and unbiased reviews to be found on YT.

I demand a second opinion! According to that STUPID test I'm 50% hipster.

Funny you should ask - I just sent this (10 minutes ago) to my mate in Perth who is the newspaper shooter who has moved from Canon to Sony...

And I don't think it's just the depression talking. Not shooting much ATM, so...

Chatting to a mate in Tassie about whether we make the move or not. He's a FT wedding shooter and wants to add DMF, so he's in a different situation, but I'm hardly shooting anything, so selling all the Fuji and grabbing a used Sony body and that new lens is a very tempting thing.

Me too, they're just a bit long.

Mankins are lumps of cold, dead plastic. But that doesn't mean they don't turn me on.
With friends like these, who needs mankins? I do, that's who.

Reading the Sony boards/groups, people are still talking about how their CaNikon is faster (overall, AF, etc.)

If it's just weight/size savings that you were after by going mirrorless, you're absolutely correct. Many of the comments on the Sony Rumors site echo that sentiment. Fuji's fast lenses are also huge and pricey and theirs are not even full frame.
You cannot get around the physics of light. Not in this universe. That is why fast zooms designed for FF are generally so big! One way to have your cake, and being able to eat it as well, is to buy some smaller (yet still acceptably fast) primes for your Sony FF mirrorless.

That said, the fact that the Sony zooms are even larger than current Canon and Nikon offerings, that just adds insult to injury. Icon_lol
